Monkey Man

A few weeks ago I half-heartedly took on a project.  I worked on it for a few days and was pleased with the results but then I figured, like many other projects before, I would lose interest in seeing it to the end and it would fade away from my memory.
Quite the opposite has occurred.
I am about eight weeks into this thing and it has grown a life of its own.
The good in this is that I am sticking to my guns and I am determined to actually complete the task.  I actually enjoy it.
The bad is that it has taken away from the rest of my life.
My relationship with my family has suffered and I am left in a limbo area where I try to have it all.

My son and I like to Google.  We take turns searching wild phrases and see what images pop up (with parental filters, mind you).  It was his turn and he requested a search for "Monkey Man".
We got the above image and had a great laugh.
After studying it for a while, though, I realized that I was trying to live like Double M.
Monkey Man can pull it off.  Somehow he is able to juggle his relationship with his favorite cowboy primate while enjoying his passions of beer, burlesque, and male teen celebrities (He even finds time to stay impeccably dressed).

We don't share the same interests, mind you, but at the end of the day, I have to realize that I am no Monkey Man.  I can not do it all.
Moderation is key.
