Rejoice

Due to the finalization of federal litigation and a plea agreement that was reached, the creator of Liberty and Independence must come clean and admit that during the months of June and July of 2010, the L and I blog was not manufactured in the United States.

It is with hardened heart that I confess child labor in Switzerland was used to complete the work.  I now realize that the almighty dollar should never get in the way of good old fashioned blogging.  Apologies all round.

In my defense, however, I must point out that blogging should be a winter sport.  It's tough to type away and smoke a pipe in a corduroy blazer when it's one hundred degrees outside.

Also, most of my spare time was spent completing a project.  I can now say, with some degree of confidence, that it is complete.  Weighing in at 72,000 words, it is the book I promised myself I would write.  I have placed it in the responsible hands of individuals who are well versed in the intricacies of the english language.  Yes, I speak of public educators.  I look forward to the brutal truth.  I am a viking. I can take it.

I wish to personally apologize to my wife and son who resorted to toting a cardboard cutout of me to family functions while I toiled away at a very large piece of shredder fodder.  Thank you both, and rejoice.

Daddy's back.

  1. Congratulations on finishing your book. That's the hard part, taking the first step and completing it. I have yet to do that but just this week I have decided it is time for putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard in this computer age.)

Is this book of yours one for the Great Unwashed or is it a family book?

Anthony Quinn and James Coburn, excellent choice.

  2. Ron-
Undetermined. The goal was just to complete one. I thoroughly enjoyed working on it and sewing the story together. It made me laugh, and at the end of the day, that is what really matters. I am contemplating an ebook format, but my wife suggested querying some agents.
    I will keep you posted.
