Sunday Evening Post

There's been a lot of talk about this next blog.
Maybe too much talk.
This is not a rebel blog.
It's Sunday.
Evening Post Sunday.
(Honestly, how many of you knew that opening was a parody of Bono from U2 live at the Red Rocks?)

This is what Monday morning can become if you let it.  A sleepy child almost went to school with two different shoes.

Tuesday was Mardi Gras and the entire family trekked to my brother's home for some king cake.

My nephew got the piece with the baby, so we'll be having the party at the same place next year.

My son and I rigged a can-piercing tool out of an old crutch, a found pocket knife, and a bunch of electrical tape.  Why yes, yes it is dangerous.  Thank you for asking.
Very Lord of the Flies.

I found a new local coffee hideout in downtown Clayton.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for...
Gelato.

Hebrew School Twister.
Oy vey.

I needed a mask for Mardi Gras and found this one four days too late.

I say the louder the better.

Umprelu.
It's an anagram for lumper which everyone knows is a taxonomist who classifies organisms into large groups on the basis of major characteristics.
He is only in kindergarten and my nephew is already playing mind games.  Definitely MENSA material.

We were fortunate enough to spend a little time preparing our vegetable garden boxes.  This year it is strictly tomatoes, peppers, and arugula.
I WILL NOT DIVERGE FROM THE PLAN.

A shot of the old barn.  I remember a possum carcass hanging right about here when I was kid.  Many hours were spent playing hide-and-seek and flashlight tag within these walls.

The old place used to be pretty diverse, but now it has been taken over by a bunch of condominiums inhabited by WASPs.

First flower of the season.  My son spotted it in the backyard and picked it for his mother.
I guess we'll keep him.

See you next week.

  2. A perfect Mardi Gras mask and I agree with you, the louder the better! The WASP 'condominium' is more proof the theory of relativity - note that they are ONLY inhabited by WASPS - all other nationalities, religion or creeds need not apply...exclusive!
