Banned Books

There's nothing like stickin' it to the man and reading a banned book.
When you see a woman at Target and spy a well-worn copy of The Outsiders dangling from her purse, you instantly think:
Cool.
(You also think: Shoplifter).

People who tote around censored literature are rebels who dwell on the fringe of society.
Picture Charles Bukowski and William Burroughs.
Or Jack Kerouac.
Or Sylvia Plath.
Yes indeed.

Banned Books Week will soon be upon us
(September 25 through October 2nd).
So throw some grease in your hair, grab a switchblade, and carry your duct-taped edition of Lolita for all to see.
I dare you.
