Sunday Evening Post

When I look over the pictures we took for the week, some of them feel as if they were eons ago.

Every year on Fourth of July, we trek down to the state capitol to watch fireworks and chat with friends-
and every year is a fantastic time.

coy/koi/Adjective

1. Making a pretense of shyness or modesty that

is intended to be alluring but is often

regarded as irritating.

Sounds like fun.
Sign me up.

Gigantic vat of homemade tomato sauce.

My wife introduced my son to his first Tastykake this week and I gave him a "Far Side" book to read.  He is on the path to manhood.

My wife's new favorite photo of her nephew, who partook in a three-legged race.

Work continues on the homestead.  Here they are filling up the walls with concrete.

 Swim meet.

 Here is an interesting one.
Train vs. truck filled with potatoes.
Guess who won?
If they were sweet potatoes I would have been set for life.

My nephew Jack had bite marks all over his legs and advised me that a water cockroach in the pool was to blame.  I didn't have the heart to tell him that mosquitoes were the culprits.
Water cockroaches sound so much cooler.

 "Well, I got a voice

And I love to sing
I can sing like a bird
And I can sing like a frog
I'm a lonely boy
I ain't got a home."
Clarence Frogman Henry

A very Happy Brewers Birthday to Jack and Ben.  May their faces one day don mustaches as boss as those worn by Robin Yount and Rollie Fingers.

Every once in a while, you can still catch the old cartoons from the forties and fifties on display.

 Into the Sunset
(fade camera one).

See you next week.

  1. so a while back you posted a pic of a 16 mile beer bottle. last friday i did a brewery tour with a couple of my friends. it's a pretty neat little brewery and the bar's right in the same room where they do the brewing. it's a pretty small operation. you should check it out if you get down to georgetown area.

  2. Thanks, Sonya. I actually spoke with one of the owners not too long ago about where to buy his beer in Kent County. I definitely want to check it out.

  3. Homemade tomato sauce, a Summer Treasure. And Clarence "Frogman Henry", how in the world did you know about him? He was part of my Youth. I love your droll sense of humor with your picture captions. Jerry Seinfeld has nothing on you. You see the humor and absurdity of life n the every day.
