Sunday Evening Post

Fun week.
As we gear up for Monday,
let us take a moment and reflect on what was.

The chair that got away.
I saw it on Thursday, went to buy it on Friday, and it was gone.
Maybe I'll just sit on the picture.

Homemade pizza pie courtesy of Jill.

Free bookmarks I swiped from the public library.  Well done...

...but I like to make my own so they have that personal touch.

My son is an interesting guy.  He received good marks on his report card, so he was told he could choose a restaurant for dinner.  Here is his choice:
Stingray in Rehoboth Beach, where he sat by a fireplace decorated with Japanese cartoons, ate sushi, and drizzled green tea with honey.

My in-law's neighbors went all out for the pending St. Valentine's Day.

The highlight of the week was T's 40th shindig, graciously hosted in a Baltimore-area home with meal and music both prepared by Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen.
Awesome experience.

If you look closely, you can see smoke rising from their fingers.

I always feel bad for the photographer at events like that so I snapped a photo of him so he felt like part of the action.

Many men can do one thing well, but it is a rare breed who can master several arts.
Methinks witchcraft might be involved.

Dessert:
local vanilla ice cream with homemade fruit compote.

I remember one time I went to a Russian dinner with similar glasses set out.  Thinking it was water, I took a big gulp only to find that it was vodka.
Won't be fooled again.
Thankfully, this was H2O.

New baby.

Life in four panels.
It is the space between them, however, that tells the true story of its essence.

See you next week.

  1. Super Sunday post! Where to start? "Won't be fooled again", the famous (or infamous) George Bush quote that will live on long after he's gone. The photographer you feel sorry for, same here. I have a good friend who is an excellent photographer who I hire for my family and class reunions. He misses out on all the good stuff. We're having a blogger reunion in Lewes on March 23rd (at the Inn, you're welcome to stop by for the Meet and Greet from 6 pm to 8 pm), he says "I'm taking pictures but I'm also participating in this one." I know exactly what he means. He'll still take a lot of pictures, he can't help himself. That chair you missed out on? I learned the hard way to buy it when you first see it because it is NEVER there when you go back after "thinking about it." NEVER. Have a great week!

  2. Learned my lesson on that chair and snatched a local painting this week that will probably make next Sunday's pics. Thanks, Ron.
