Sunday Evening Post

The Steelers stink and the Pirates are good?
I think I slipped through some alternate dimension.
Here are what the photos look like on the other side of the looking glass.
The week in pictures.

I got in another round of golf this year.  It always takes me 17 holes to figure out my swing, so by number 18, I'm pretty good.

My fig tree is still producing some pretty sweet fruits.  Next year I am going to plant a couple of newton trees as well.

F riding high on this month's most renowned gourd.
Nothing I like more than hanging out in a pumpkin patch on All Hallow's Eve, waiting for the Great Pumpkin to hand out toys to all the boys and girls that believe.

Most of the stuff I have taught my son over the last twelve years has been drivel, but thank goodness the most important stuff, like comic book reading, stuck.

Before.

After.
One big Mazel Tov to L and B from L and I!
Welcome to the world, young Jack!

Fortunately for Jack's parents, J made some homemade chicken soup with matzo balls for them to get them back on their feet and ready to...

Oops.
Sorry, guys.  M ate it all.
I heard canned Campbell's is pretty good, too.

Sometimes being ignorant truly is bliss.
My father-in-law sent me a message about the Pirates win over the Cards, and I had thought the game was going to start later in the day. He saved me from three hours of anxiety and fear.

This is an early dismissal request delivered to a teacher in Pittsburgh.  Looks like the Affordable Care Act is working pretty well.

Caesar Rodney Riders Homecoming Parade 2013!
Check out TD dressed to the nines and representing her class proudly.

Her old man looks pretty proud of both his daughters.  Here he is walking shotgun next to E.

This was the first misty-eyed happy moment from the weekend's events.
Proof that smiles are contagious.

Here is the second, when my kid's school chorus belted out a medley of all the armed forces themes.  As each branch's tune was sung, members stood.  They saved the Air Force for last, and more than half of the auditorium rose
(First rule of entertainment is to know your audience).

I am looking forward to walking the Briar Path in Baltimore and checking out my nephew's new digs.

See you next week.

  3. Ron - I'd like to think that we find great pleasure in the simple things, but we are indeed truly grateful for what comes our way. Thanks and have a good week!
