Sunday Evening Post

Wild week.
We went from 5 degrees at the beginning to about 55 towards the end.
Everybody was sick (except me, and that is due to the fact that I have the strength of ten men and my veins flow with viking blood).
The week in pics.

Thanks, great-cooking friend, for hooking me up with a jar full of delicious black bean soup.  I also want to thank your family for not liking it, so it all comes my way.

Here is a frozen shot of the spigot on my rain barrel.  Chill factor brought temps down in the negatives.

Kids all over the U.S. were trying out this neat cold-weather experiment:
throw a pot of boiling water in the air and watch it turn into a cloud.

Unfortunately, like many experiments involving young ones, injuries are bound to happen.  This young Chicagoan took hot water to the ear and sustained second degree burns.
Don't worry.  His parents bought him a Red Rider BB Gun to make him feel better.

Dumpling Dojo of Annapolis gets two thumbs up from wife and child.  I give them a third thumbs up for a great logo design.

My Dad and I checked out this French Bulldog female puppy for my Mom.  If all goes well, she will be in her new home next week.  There is a naming contest going on, so if you have any ideas, please share.  My money is on "Eclaire".

The winner will receive this print of a French Bulldog I spotted in a Crate and Barrel.
(I should say a copy of the print - the darned thing cost fifty clams!)

Mugsy putting his dukes up for another round of melee.  He likes to play with blocks…
cinder blocks.

Here is a rare photo of his sensitive side, but please don't tell him I put it in here-
he'll beat me up.

My wife snuck this picture because she was mesmerized by the fact that this woman ate ice chips with a spoon for two hours straight.

This is how I greeted my Son in a dressing room the other day.  I used the "Herbert the Pervert" voice from Family Guy.  Fortunately, no one overheard.

Salted caramel:
up close and personal.

My wife's super awesome salted caramel apple pie for my sis-in-law's birthday.
Sweet.

See you next week!

  1. Black bean soup, YES! My spouse doesn't like it either so I have it all to me. My own recipe which is the best and easiest. Congratulations on another super Sunday Evening Post. Have a wonderful week.

    1. Thanks, Ron. I thought everyone digs black bean soup, but I am discovering that people who love it may be in the minority.
