Sunday Morning Coming Down

It is Sunday morning and I have taken post at the front porch.  All is well here in the absolute center of Delaware.  No signs of invasion from the north or south.  The east is protected by the bay and I place my faith in Maryland to watch my western back.
Larry just ran by and that means he has about two more miles before he makes it back home.  It also means it is around ten o'clock.
The rest of the crew is away, and I am alone, which is a good thing every once in a while, recharge the batteries, listen to the locusts.
I woke up early and walked to the corner to purchase a Sunday paper.  I selected the Baltimore Sun, the highlight so far being black and white photos of H.L. Mencken and Dashiell Hammett (pictured above).
That's how I look right about now, minus the suit and the mustache, and the shined shoes, and the comfortable chair, and the expensive watch - but other than that - two peas in a pod.
The clouds and the breeze are starting to burn off.  The coffee is gone.  A flock of geese just flew by.
Only one thing left to do -
listen to a little Johhny Cash.

  1. Life is good. Every day of good health, family and love is a gift. Savor and take nothing for granted.
