Sunday Evening Post

Holidays on the horizon
and ducks are on the pond.

The week in photos.

I had a pow-wow with grains and we smoked a peace pipe together, so here is my re-introduction to them:
oat and quinoa apple cinnamon breakfast cookies.
I missed you guys!

Sometimes, on gray days, you have to force yourself out of the house.  Glad I did it.

"The leaves are falling, falling as if from far up,
as if orchards were dying high in space."
-Rilke

There is something about a high school play production.  I love when the lights go down, the narrator's voice fills the room, and then the first act comes to life.
Here is the cast of CR's production of "A Christmas Carol."
We ate sushi in the parking lot before the show.

I like to cook breakfast for the family.  Makes me feel like I am earning my keep.  This is my new recipe, as described in the below text conversation with my wife.

Always get your digs in when you can.

Baby gang signs.

Picture from a diving expedition in Florida.
Any lobsters smaller than your foot, you have to throw back.
State Law.

Sitting in a doctor's office can be a drag.
Fortunately, my wife shares stuff like this with me to keep it interesting.

My wife had this little lady send her a singing video.
"You are my Sunshine"
was the song.

Mazel Tov to Cousin A, who was bat mitzvahed over the weekend.

Looks like a bunch of celebrities showed up.
That young lady must have a lot of connections.

Nothing like raw butternut squash to keep the young ones at bay when you are cooking.
If he's good, they give him spinach and cauliflower.

Photographic evidence that my wife does in fact have horns.

No point in being subtle about what you want for Christmas, people.
I like how iPad and phone are thrown in the mix.

Scene out of a hospital window.
They should project movies out there.

See you next week.

  1. It was a gray and dreary day wasn't it? A day like this does dampen the spirits. Your post put a little sunshine in it. Have a wonderful week!

    1. Thanks, Ron. This week was a grind, but we found plenty to be thankful for. Stay warm!
